Several months ago I created a series of work called The Real Man (since turned into a zine). It was about the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine, making fun of the stereotypes typically forced on men by depicting them and then depicting a parodied version of that stereotype. Now I am working on a series of Real Women, with the same goal in mind.

This is my first excursion into oil painting for quite some time. I'm currently taking a portraiture class, and our first assignment is to take an image (this one was based on several images I photoshopped together) and paint it using the right value (light to dark) but wrong color.

My family has recently adopted several baby chickens. So cute! I decided to do a series of chicken 'baby portraits' as a Mothers Day gift for my mom. The scanned chicken portraits don't show the watercolor wash over it very well, so there is also a photo version. The pieces were all done with FW acrylic ink and a crow quill pen.
